Nearby Stoney Creek -- nickname for Stonyton Creek -- combines with Brierry Run and Jericho Run before emptying into the Neuse River at Nelson Landing. It's a heavenly hey day for beavers as well as the rich supply of eastern North Carolina fishes. Numerous ponds exist in the area -- honey holes for many local anglers. Woodlands surround the water rich areas providing cover and foraging for various wildlife. Bears roam freely in these areas as well as deer, turkey, 'coons, squirrels, rabbits and many more species.
